Bergen Pizza Delivery Man Who Was Shot And Killed ID'd

Update: Authorities found the 27-year-old victim from Elmwood Park in Passaic after 2 a.m. Sunday morning, authorities said.

Authorities have announced the identity of the Bergen County pizza delivery man who was killed after he was shot and crashed his car in Passaic early Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as Dervy Almonte-Moore, 27, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a news release. He was a delivery man for Jumbo's Pizza in Wallington.

Police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the ShopRite store near 503 Paulison Ave. in Passaic at 2:17 a.m. Sunday. Authorities found Almonte-Moore unresponsive inside his 1998 black Toyota Camry, which had hit a tree, Valdes said.

Almonte-Moore had been shot and was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson at 2:48 a.m., the prosecutor said.

Authorities investigated and determined that Almonte-Moore may have been shot while making a delivery near 582 Paulison Ave. in Clifton before crashing his car nearby on Paulison Avenue in Passaic, Valdes said.
