Bergen Teacher's Aide Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girl: Prosecutor

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A teacher's aide has been charged after authorities say he sexually assaulted a young girl, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal announced.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office received information Wednesday that Philip Cerone, 27, of Maywood, sexually assaulted a juvenile girl, Grewal said. The prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit and the Maywood Police Department investigated.
Cerone was arrested Thursday in Maywood, Grewal said. He was charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Cerone is being detained in the Bergen County Jail. He was scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court Friday afternoon.
