Big Change For Bergen County July 4 'Star Spangled Spectacular' And Fireworks
Due to the forecast, the schedule for Bergen County's July 4 events and fireworks has changed drastically.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County will still hold its its annual July 4 "Star-Spangled Spectacular" with music, vendors, and fireworks, officials said, but they've modified the schedule due to the heat and possible afternoon thunderstorms.
The activities will only be held in the evening, the county announced.
The third annual "Star-Spangled Spectacular" in Overpeck Park will now begin at 6 p.m.

The fireworks and performances by Super Trans Am and The Sugarhill Gang will still go on.
"Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of attendees, employees, performers, vendors, and volunteers as the county's top priority, the event will now begin at 6 p.m.," officials said Wednesday. "The revised schedule eliminates the afternoon portion of the celebration while preserving the evening's featured performances and fireworks display."

Entertainment, Fireworks, And Parking
The revised entertainment schedule includes: The National Anthem and Welcome Presentation at 6 p.m.; Performance from Bergen PAC Idol winner Jackie Jesner at 6:15, Super Trans Am at 6:45, The Sugarhill Gang at 8:15, and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
The fireworks will only start after the Ridgefield Park municipal fireworks end.
The New Jersey Wind Symphony performance originally scheduled for 2 p.m. will be rescheduled for a special performance at Overpeck County Park later this summer or fall, officials said. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
