Boys Soar to Victory in Senior Sendoff
Ridgewood basketball bests Bergenfield at senior celebration.
Appropriately on senior night, it was the senior captain that dominated. As the Maroons boys basketball bid to its five seniors farewell, the team rolled over Bergenfield 57 to 35.
Graduating captain James Albano capped over an amazing season by torching Bergenfield with 32 points en route to victory in front of fans and family last night.
The monster game was his seventh straight in double digits and fourth consecutive game with 20 or more points. In fact, Albano was only held under 10 points once this season (Feb. 2 against Passaic High School). His season was paced by a 44-point outing verse Bloomfield Feb. 5.

Ridgewood will lose four seniors besides Albano. Jack Simmons, Joe Peabody, Alex Lunenfeld, and Jimmy Donnelly were all honored with the captain in a pregame ceremony featuring family members.
The Maroons return to the hardwood this afternoon with their final scheduled home game of the season—4:15 p.m. verse West Milford. After away games verse Kearney and Ramapo, Ridgewood will take on John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson March 2 in the opening round of the North I, Group IV state sectionals.
