The GRPD responded to 256 calls for service between March 7 and March 13.

3:30 PM – The manager of Bottle King Liquors on Prospect Street reported that an unknown female actor, believed to be in her 40’s, had shoplifted $ 207 worth of liquor from the store. The subject had departed from the store and fled into Fair Lawn in a Honda Pilot prior to the officer’s arrival. Video surveillance footage has been forwarded to the detective bureau which is following up on the matter.

5:56 PM – While investigating a motor vehicle accident on Route 208 South near Harristown Road, P.O. Nick Onove arrested a 37-year-old Palisades Park woman for driving while intoxicated. Neither the actor, nor the 61-year-old Hawthorne woman who was operating the vehicle she struck, were injured.

The driver, who refused to provide breath samples, was subsequently transported to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus due to her condition. She was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath testing.

11:07 AM – Patrols and Fire Fighters were dispatched to the 200 block of Rock Road, in the Central Business District, after a vehicle drove through a store front. Investigation found that a 2010 Subaru, operated by a 61-year-old Glen Rock woman, had driven through the front of the insurance office at 226 Rock Road. The driver reportedly mistook the accelerator for the brake. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the building inspector responded to determine the structural integrity of the building.

11:36 AM – A black 2018 Toyota SUV, which was legally parked on Belmont Road near Harristown, was struck by a hit and run vehicle sometime during the morning. Anyone who witnessed the collision and can identify the hit and run vehicle is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

1:04 PM – A Glen Rock resident reported that a fraudulent unemployment claim had been filed in their name in January of 2022. They subsequently received information from the IRS that a fraudulent income tax return had also been filed in their name. Due to the fact that the wrong social security number had appeared on the tax return, the IRS did not process the return. The matter has been referred to the Detective Bureau for review.
