Care Plus Takes Over At Bergen Regional Medical Center

Care Plus Bergen is now managing New Jersey's largest public hospital.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Care Plus Bergen Inc. has taken over as the new operator of Bergen Regional Medical Center, the state's largest public hospital.

Care Plus began managing the hospital's day-to-day operations Sunday, but county Executive James Tedesco III and Freeholder Board Chairman Tracy Zur will officially welcome Care Plus in ts new role at a ceremony Monday morning.

Care Plus Bergen is a nonprofit corporation run by Care Plus NJ, a mental health outpatient company and Integrity House, an addiction treatment center based in Newark. It has proposed transforming Bergen Regional into a new facility that would give county residents priority treatment, NorthJersey.com previously reported.

Care One signed a 19-year contract to run the hospital in July.
