Controversy Erupts Before Next Ridgewood Meeting Wednesday
A resident has posted videos and asked that Ridgewood Village Hall be "safer for residents" in advance of Wednesday's meetings.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The Ridgewood Village Council is set to convene Wednesday night for a special meeting followed by a public work meeting.
Tensions may be higher than usual after videos were posted Monday on the Ridgewood Blog showing what the poster said were assaults or attempted assaults at past meetings, part of a call to make the Village Hall "safe for residents."
The Village Council had dealt with heated issues recently, including a debate over which kind of fields to create at the historic Schedler property, and how to preserve it. READ MORE: Final Vote On Schedler Land Expected At Ridgewood Meeting

At the recent Sept. 13 meeting — at which several residents living near the Schedler property spoke about its future — one speaker suddenly gasps and stops talking (see 3:36:07 in this video), in response to an audible argument in the room. She then asks "Should we get the police?"
The Wednesday meeting is set to begin at 6:45 p.m. at Ridgewood Village Hall, 131 North Maple Ave. The council has a resolution to go into closed session at some point during the meeting. The agenda is here. The public work session is set to begin at 7:30.
