Services have been scheduled for a Glen Rock councilwoman who died over the weekend.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — Former Glen Rock Councilwoman Teresa Gilbreath, who declined to run for re-election last year, died last weekend, prompting a tribute from Mayor Kristine Morieko.
"Teresa Gilbreath was not someone you forgot," Morieko wrote Wednesday. "She was strong. She was stubborn. Fiercely independent and completely unapologetic about it."
Teresa Mary Gibbons Gilbreath died on Saturday at 66. She was born in Ridgewood and lived in Glen Rock for 27 years, her obituary said. She had an MBA from Rutgers and had retired from Prudential Financial in Newark as the company's chief compliance officer.

"She challenged assumptions, pushed conversations forward, and stood firm in what she believed was right," Morieko wrote. "She was a tireless advocate for our seniors, the library, FOGRA, our drinking water, and for better programming and communication. She didn’t just talk about progress. Teresa delivered it."
Services will be held this Friday and Saturday. Read the obituary here.
