Detached Garage In Ridgewood Catches Fire, Report Says

Overloaded electrical outlet caused the blaze, fire officials said.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — A detached garage at a Sherwood Road home caught fire Sunday morning, The Record reported.

The house's owner called fire personnel to the fire at about 6 a.m. and flames were coming out of the garage's roof, the report said.

The fire severely damaged the garage and was extinguished in about 10 minutes, according to the report.

An overloaded electrical outlet sparked the fire; there were no vehicles in the garage, but there were gas cans, according to the report.

No injuries were reported, fire officials said.
