Donation Campaign Started For Glen Rock Boy With Leukemia

6-year-old Dylan Canfield is 'happy, energetic, and full of life.'

A online donation campaign has been started to help 6-year-old Dylan Canfield battle Leukemia.

Canfield was diagnosed with the disease this week. It is especially difficult on Canfield and his mother Elissa because his father Bill died of cancer when Canfield was just a baby.

Marissa Olsen, a friend of the family, started a GoFundMe campaign Monday online to help the family with medical expenses. Nearly $8,000 was donated as of Tuesday afternoon. The original goal was to raise $8,000 but that amount was eclipsed in a few hours. Now the goal is to raise $15,000.

“They’re very close friends of ours and everybody in the community was so crushed by this,” Olsen said. “I thought it would be great behind the family. I just wanted to help her any way that I could.”
