Bergen County Man, 32, Dies In Single-Car Crash On Thanksgiving

Services will be held Tuesday for William Hennecke, 32, of Fair Lawn, according to an obituary.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A 32-year-old man from Fair Lawn was killed on Thanksgiving evening when his car crashed into a utility pole in that town, according to reports.

William Hennecke, 32, will be missed by his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and his dogs, his obituary noted.

"William was an avid fisherman and loved to fish the local rivers and lakes," says the obit. "He loved going to the NJ shore, riding his dirt bikes with family and friends, and loved caring for his dogs. His smile always lit up the room."

Reports say he died when his car hit the pole on the southbound side of Rt. 208, near Maple and McBride avenues, around 5:39 p.m. on Thursday. No one else was in the car, said NJ.com. Local police are investigating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, and a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29. Read more of the obituary here.
