The festival will coincide with Pickle Time Week, a national observance established in 1949 by the Pickle Packers Association to celebrate the country’s long-standing pickle tradition, organizers said.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up as a pickle character.

"Pickles have deep cultural roots in the Northeast, and New Jersey consistently ranks among the top states in pickle consumption per capita," they said in the Monday afternoon announcement. "The U.S. now consumes more than 5.2 million pounds of pickles annually, and the state’s agricultural sector contributes thousands of tons of cucumbers each year to the pickle production pipeline

There will be a Pickle Parade, which will lead to the main stage for the crowning of New Jersey’s first Pickle King and Pickle Queen, a spin-off of the tradition started in 1949 during Pickle Time Week, they said.

They event will feature vendors and a pickle beer garden.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with separate ticket pricing for adults, kids, and VIPs.
