Former Glen Rock Cop Pleads Guilty In Sexting Case, Report Says

Eric Reamy, 51, faces a 3- to 5-year prison sentence. He admitting sending suggestive and explicit text messages to teenage girls.

GLEN ROCK, NJ - A former borough police sergeant will likely serve three to five years in prison for pleading guilty to sexting two teenage girls he was supposed to be supervising.

Eric Reamy, 51, of Fair Lawn, was arrested Aug. 5 after the mother of a 17-year-old girl showed police "inappropriate" messages from Reamy she found on her daughter's cellphone. He had been the police department's juvenile officer.

Authorities discovered another victim, a 14-year-old girl, who Reamy sent pictures of his genitals to, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said when Reamy was charged. The girl sent Reamy a topless photo of herself at his request.

Reamy was also arrested in September on charges that he pawned guns that had been surrendered to the Glen Rock Police Department.

Reamy accepted a plea deal in Superior Court Judge Susan J. Steele's courtroom Thursday, The Record reported.

Reamy pleaded guilty to second-degree of endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree count of failure to make the required disposition of property, the report said.

He will have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, pay unreimursed medical expenses for the two victims, can never again hold public employment, and will be on parole for life, according to the report.
