Freeze Warning In Effect For Bergen County: Here's How Low It Will Go

Bergen County remains under a freeze warning. Here's when and why.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A freeze warning remains in effect for Bergen County through 9 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service,"Sub freezing temperatures in the 20s and lower 30s expected...freeze and frost conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation."

Now that spring planting has begun, gardeners should "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the NWS says.

But how low will temperatures go?

The low in Ridgewood on Monday night was expected to be 35. Tuesday, it will be 43.

In Mahwah, temperatures will remain low through Wednesday, with a low Tuesday of 37 and a low Wednesday of 43.
