Glen Rock Closes Schools Thursday Amid Nor'easter
The district announced Wednesday evening that schools would be closed Thursday. Before and after school programs are also put on hold.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — The Glen Rock Public School District kept it short and sweet in announcing the closure of schools Thursday.
"Due to anticipated inclement weather conditions, the Glen Rock Public School District will be closed, tomorrow, Thursday December 17, 2020. All before school, after school and evening activities and programs are canceled. All Community School programs are closed as well," the district wrote.

The decision comes as a nor'easter starts to impact the region Wednesday.

Wednesday's storm could produce dangerous road conditions and knock out power in many parts of the state, as experts predict up to a foot of snow or more.
During a Wednesday news conference with Gov. Phil Murphy, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Director James Giuliano said he expects to encounter outages during the course of the storm as high winds could knock down trees and damage power lines.

Glen Rock joins neighboring Ridgewood in their decision to close schools Thursday, but schools aren't the only thing being impacted.
