Glen Rock Couple Scammed Out Of $300 In NY Puppy Purchase: Police

After paying a deposit for a new dog, they arrived at a private home to find no puppies. It's not the first time this has happened.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A Glen Rock couple made the trek to Williamson, New York on what was supposed to be an exciting day. They were getting a brand-new puppy, and new member of the family.

There was just one problem: there was no puppy.

According to Glen Rock Police, the borough couple attempted to buy the dog through the website "familybichonfrise.com."

After putting down a $300 deposit through Cash App, they drove to the Williamson address given to them, only to find that there were no dogs at the location, and it wasn't the first time this has happened.

Police say the location listed on the website is a private residence, and, upon their arrival, "the resident informed them that they were not the first people who showed up at their home looking to pick up a puppy."

According to New York State Police, who provide law enforcement services to Williamson, there have been multiple reports made regarding these fraudulent dog sales.

The Glen Rock Detective Bureau is following up with the New York State Police regarding an ongoing investigation into this matter, police said.

Family Bichon Frise

According to the website for Family Bichon Frise, the business has been in operation since 2015.

The site claims that the business is "veteran owned and family operated."

A phone call and email to the points of contact listed on their website were not immediately returned.

Despite the negative reviews from two area law enforcement agencies, when speaking for themselves, the business cites high approval.

"A high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver only the best dogs and dog services," read the website.

Eight dogs are listed for sale, all of whom are 12 weeks old and cost $750.
