Glen Rock Democrats Running Unopposed In General Election

Council President Kristine Morieko and candidate Mary Barchetto still plan on going door to door and talking with residents.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Two Democratic council candidates are running unopposed in the General Election in November.

Krsitine Morieko, the sitting council president, and Mary Barchetto are slated to be the only major party candidates on the ballot.

No Republicans have filed with the borough clerk's office and there were no write-in candidates submitted during the June 5 primary.

The candidates said they will continue to speak with residents and go door to door this election season despite them running unopposed.

"While the idea of running unopposed is exciting, it does not change the fact that Kristine and I will be out there knocking on doors and hosting events to meet and listen to Glen Rockers," Barchetto said. "Hearing the residents' thoughts, concerns, and ideas in order to inform our actions is our top priority in matter who is on the ballot."
