Glen Rock Lacrosse Star Named To Ireland National Team

Maggie Egan is a a former all-american and state and county champion.

GLEN ROCK, N.J. — Maggie Egan, a former lacrosse all-american and state and county champion, has been named to the Ireland's women's lacrosse team.

Egan was a two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American, three-time All-County, and All-League selection at Glen Rock High School. She amassed more than 100 goals in four years and was a two-time two team captain.

"She's a very dynamic player. She isn't super flashy, but she gets the job done," said Coach Sarah Walsh. "During our tryouts she was involved in many successful plays."

It is not known if Egan will start. Walsh said lineups have not been set yet.

At Saint Joseph's University, the midfielder was named to the 2016 Atlantic 10 First and All-Academic teams.

Egan holds the single-season record for assists in a season at Saint Joseph's with 33.
