Glen Rock Public Schools Names New English Supervisor

Shari Krapels will fill the new, supervisory role for the 2020-2021 school year.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Glen Rock Public Schools announced Shari Krapels as the K-12 English Supervisor for the 2020-2021 school year.

The position is a new, supervisory role, according to a news release from the school, which will provide Glen Rock English teachers with "content experts, problem solvers, and coaches."

Krapels comes to Glen Rock from Cresskill, where she was a high school English teacher for the past nine years. There, she taught journalism, AP language and composition, honors American literature and comedy & tragedy, a senior level college preparatory course.

“I look forward to being able to fill all of those roles for English teachers in Glen Rock,” said Krapels, in a statement.

In the role, Krapels will serve as a liaison between the English department and administrative team, while ensuring a consistent curriculum at all levels.

"Early in my career I was really lucky to have excellent supervisors who acted as mentors to me, and I am looking forward to getting to coach and cheerlead for teachers in the same way," said Krapels. "If not for the excellent mentors I had, I never would have had the courage to experiment with curriculum, and tackle exciting projects with my students, and I look forward to encouraging and supporting teachers as they expand their own practices."

Krapels will begin her new role on July 1.
