Hotel Guest Rescued And Firefighter Injured In Blaze At Bergen County Hotel
A guest was rescued and a female firefighter was injured in a blaze at the Town House Inn in Bergen County.
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ — A hotel guest was rescued and a female. firefighter was injured on Wednesday morning when first responders headed to a smoky blaze inside a Bergen County hotel room.
Firefighters from Elmwood Park, Garfield, and surrounding towns responded around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday to the blaze on the second floor of the Town House Inn & Suites on Route 46, according to the Garfield Fire Department.
Residents posted video of smoke pouring from a window at the back of the hotel, on the second floor.

"Firefighters rescued a man at the rear of the hotel across the street from Gantner Avenue School. It was reported that the firefighter who saved this man has suffered some injuries," wrote a resident who posted videos.
The nearby Gantner Avenue School sheltered in place, according to commenters online.

"Huge shout out and heartfelt thank you to our own Bravest who fought a stubborn smoky fire at the townhouse motel on Route 46 Eastbound this morning," wrote Elmwood Park Planning Board member Eric Saimson. "They were assisted by numerous mutual aid units. These are volunteers from our borough. You may know one. Thank them and support them always."
Several residents posted online that the firefighter was a hero.
A woman claiming to be her mother posted in a comment that her daughter will be ok.
News reports said she had injured her arm.
