BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Valentine's Day weekend is our time to celebrate the ones we love. With that often comes gifts, date nights and time well spent.

We've scouted the area for restaurant specials and events, and even asked Patch readers what their go-to spots are.

COVID-safe dining options in Ridgewood

Three Ridgewood restaurants are offering unique dining experiences with heated, COVID-safe bubbles or greenhouses.

Shumi Japanese Cuisine’s eight outdoor bubble tents are heated with rechargeable, heated back and seating pads on all chairs within each bubble.

Pearl Restaurant’s six outdoor igloos are heated by a natural gas furnace that is connected to the restaurant's internal heating system.

All three restaurants have curated a prix fixe or Chef’s Tasting menu for the weekend, and are currently accepted reservations.

American Dream's dream weekend

Celebrate Valentine's Day or Galentine's Day at American Dream's "The Rink" this weekend.

DJ Mark Wolf will be playing music on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., and the mall's skating rink will be open on Sunday at the same time.

William Paterson University's 'Jazz Room at Home'

Marion Cowings graces the now-virtual Jazz Room stage in the first concert of 2021.

The performance starts at 4 p.m., with a virtual artist discussion slated for 3 p.m. Ticket prices are on a pay-what-you-choose model for the virtual series, with options ranging from $10-$25.

Cowings, a "silky and versatile baritone voice," has shared stages with "jazz giants" Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, Ron Carter, Gary Bartz and Bobby Watson, and is a co-founder of the jazz vocal department at New York University, according to the university.
