Interactive 'Minecraft Experience: Village Rescue' To Open At Mall In Bergen County

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — "Minecraft Experience: Village Rescue," an interactive attraction based on the online gaming franchise Minecraft, will open at a Bergen County mall/entertainment complex in November.

The attraction has been touring the country, and "invites guests to step into the Overworked and embark on a real-life adventure," said a spokesperson for Experience MOD and Mojang Studios.

Minecraft, an online building game often played by children, has given rise to a franchise including movies and more. It's also the best-selling video game of all time, according to Guinness.

The attraction opens on Nov. 13.

According to a statement from American Dream, "Guests can step beynd the screen and into a story-driven rescue mission where iconic biomes, mobs, and challenges from the game come to life. Guests begin their one-hour journey in the forest, where they learn the ropes before entering the village to receive their quest. Working alongside a team of fellow adventurers, they embark on an interactive, story-driven mission through eight Minecraft realms.

"Upon completion, guests can celebrate their heroic feat with the purchase of a Minecraft memento at the Trading Post. In addition, players can claim a sought-after commemorative Minecraft cape to continue their adventure."

The attraction is open to Minecraft players and non-players alike, said a spokesperson, noting that no prior knowledge of the game is required.

"When the experience opens in New Jersey this November, players will have the chance to see the adventure, creativity and iconic world of Minecraft come to life around them,” said Experience MOD Co-Manager Oliver Goulet."

Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 at www.minecraftexperience.com. Single-ticket prices start at $36, with friends-and-family multipack tickets starting at $32.
