Lakes At Darlington Pool And Splash Zone In Bergen County To Open Daily: See Schedule

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Don't have access to a pool, or want to try someplace different? A pool and Splash Zone in a Bergen County park are open to all New Jersey residents, for a fee.

Bergen County will open The Lakes at Darlington County Park for its full summer schedule every day beginning this Friday, said County Executive James J. Tedesco III, the Board of Commissioners, and the Bergen County Parks Department.

The park's swimming area will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Wibit Splash Zone will operate during the same hours, with 50-minute sessions that include a 10-minute safety orientation. The final session begins at 5 p.m.

“The summer season is in full swing in Bergen County,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “We hope to see everyone return to Darlington for another season of summer fun, and for newcomers to discover this hidden gem of the Bergen County Parks System.”

Tickets for entry to the park and weekend sessions for the Wibit Splash Zone must be purchased in person on a first come, first served basis.

Weekday reservations for the Wibit Splash Zone from July 7 to Sept. 7 can be purchased through the county's Eventbrite page. Weekend time slots must be purchased in person, according to the announcement.

“Darlington Lake is one of Bergen County’s premier summer destinations, bringing families and friends together to enjoy everything our parks have to offer,” said Commissioner Chairman Steve Tanelli.

“As we kick off another season, we’re excited to welcome both returning visitors and first-time guests to experience this incredible resource right here in Bergen County ... Darlington continues to provide safe, affordable, and memorable summer recreation for residents and visitors of all ages.”

Prices And Times, Subject To Change

The Bergen County Parks Department advised visitors to check the Darlington County Park website for admission pricing and park rules and regulations.

Listed weekday admission is $12 for resident adults ages 18 to 61 and $20 for non-resident adults. Resident children ages 5 to 17 are listed at $8 on weekdays and non-resident children at $10. Weekday senior admission is listed at $3 for residents and $5 for non-residents.

On weekends, admission is listed at $13 for resident adults and $25 for non-resident adults. Weekend admission for children is listed at $9 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Senior weekend admission is listed at $5 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Wibit Splash Zone sessions are listed at $15 per session for both residents and non-residents, and kiddie sessions are listed at $7 for both.

The posted Splash Zone schedule includes regular and kiddie sessions at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

With 127 acres, Darlington County Park is located at the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains in Mahwah. The park features three lakes, white sand beaches, a wooded picnic area, open lawns, basketball courts, and a bird and wildlife observation, and is part of the Bergen County Parks System.
