Late Start Friday For Ridgewood Schools Due To Weather
With freezing rain and sleet in the forecast, Ridgewood Public Schools decided to delay the start of school on Friday, Feb. 25.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood Public Schools will have a delayed opening Friday, as a wintry mix Thursday night into the morning will make the commute difficult.
The district made the announcement via social media Thursday night. School will begin two hours later than normal, and all buses will come two hours later as well.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for western Bergen County and several other New Jersey and New York counties as a storm moves in from the west. The advisory lasts from 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday.

Wet weather will arrive across northern New Jersey after 10 p.m. Thursday, with 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet possible.

On Friday there will be snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1 p.m. with less than one inch of accumulation. A small amount of ice, 0.1 to 0.2 inches, is possible.
