Legendary Track Coach Honored With Complex Naming
Ridgewood girls track coach Jacob Brown had the new track and field complex at Benjamin Franklin Middle School named after him.

One of New Jersey’s most famed coaches will have a new track and field complex named after him, according to a report on NJ.com.
Jacob Brown, the head girls track and field and cross country coach at Ridgewood since 1971, plans to retire next year, the report states. In his honor, the new track complex behind Benjamin Franklin Middle School will be named the Jacob Brown Track & Field Complex, according to the report.
The announcement was made before the start of this past Saturday’s Pawlowski Relays, the report said.

Brown has led the track and cross country teams to a combined 44 state group titles, two team Meet of Champions titles in cross country, and helmed individual runners to countless county, sectional, state, and Meet of Champions All-Group accolades.
