Cops: Man Busted In Wild North Jersey Car Chase After Carjacking Cop Car, Biting Officers

A Connecticut man is hospitalized after he carjacked a Mercedes and stole a police cruiser in North Jersey, leaving a path of destruction that stretched through six towns, police said.
The car chase began in Englewood Cliffs. Police say 22-year-old Sereymantra Kong from Connecticut was lying in the road, and he was acting injured as a woman drove around the corner, according to WABC-TV.
After the woman stopped, Kong then took the car, which had two children in it. The kids soon got out after the woman screamed, demanding that they be freed, according to the report.

Police were able to locate the stolen car, but Kong rammed them to get away. Kong then carjacked a police car, and drove to River Edge.
Kong smashed up seven police cruisers, led police on a low-speed pursuit through New Milford, Bergenfield and Dumont, and eventually stopped about 15 miles from the original carjacking near an auto dealership on Route 4 in Paramus, according to northjersey.com.

Kong was arrested at the scene, and then he tried to bite several officers, sending five officers from different jurisdictions to the hospital, according to the reports.
