Man With Machete Causes School Lockdown In Bergen County: Reports
A Bergen County school was locked down on Wednesday when a bleeding man with a machete was spotted nearby, a report said.
RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ — A man was arrested near a Ridgefield Park elementary school on Wednesday after someone spotted him with a machete near the building, NJ.com reported.
A bystander called police around 11:15 a.m. upon seeing the 32-year-old local resident walking near Grant Elementary School with a weapon, the report said.
The school was temporarily placed on lockdown, the outlet reported. Police caught the man and took him to an area hospital, the report says. The man was arrested for charges related to a parking dispute earlier that day, but was not a threat to the school, officials said. Read more here.
