Man Pleads Guilty In 2019 Fairview Shooting Death: Report

A suspect in the fatal shooting​ of a Fairview man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges and had a murder charge amended, a report said.

FAIRVIEW, NJ — A suspect in the fatal shooting of a Fairview man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges and had a felony murder charge downgraded as part of his agreement, according to a report.

Lexie Burke, of North Bergen, faced murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and weapons offenses along with three other men who still await trial.

Under the plea agreement between Burke and the state, the felony murder charge he faced was amended to aggravated manslaughter, NorthJersey.com reported.

The victim, 23-year-old David Duque-Soto, was shot during a robbery while the suspects were looking for drugs and money, Bergen County Proseuctor Mark Musella said at the time.

Carlos Juan Burgos, David Daniel Martinez, and Raul Alexander Torres are the other co-defendants. Another man, Dylan Rodriguez, faces related charges and testified against Burke, NorthJersey.com reported.

Burke will not be sentenced until after the trial against Torres, Burgos, and Martinez, according to NorthJersey.com.
