Man Shoots And Pistol-Whips Woman In Englewood: Bergen County Prosecutor
A man was charged with attempted murder for shooting a woman in Bergen County Sunday, prosecutors said.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A man was charged with attempted murder on Sunday after he shot and pistol-whipped a woman in an Englewood home, prosecutors said.
Christian D. Parra-Pescoso, 36, of Englewood was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons charges, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that just before 4 a.m. Sunday, the Englewood Police Department responded to a shooting in a home on Charles Street.

Police found a woman who had been shot in the arm, prosecutors said.
She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, and remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition, prosecutors said Monday.

Prosecutors said that an investigation determined that Parra-Pescoso hit the woman on her head with a handgun, then fired it several times, striking her once.
Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer confirmed that the crime is being investigated as a domestic violence case.
Parra-Pescoso was charged with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons possession, and possession of a large capacity ammunition magazine.
He was taken to Englewood Hospital for a medical evaluation before being brought the Bergen County Jail to await an appearance in Superior Court, prosecutors said.
