Man Killed In Ridgewood Hit-And-Run ID'd, Suspect Wanted: Cops
The man was struck by a vehicle on West Ridgewood Avenue Monday night, authorities said.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The man killed in a hit-and-run crash on West Ridgewood Avenue Monday has been identified.
Edward Rao, 54, of Hawthorne, died after he was seriously injured in the crash, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday.
Ridgewood Police received a report at 7:20 p.m. of a pedestrian lying on West Ridgewood Avenue. They responded and Rao was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson where he was pronounced dead, the prosecutor's office stated in a news release.

Evidence at the scene and surveillance video taken from the area indicated that a dark-colored SUV hit Rao, authorities said. The make and exact model are unknown. The vehicle went westbound on West Ridgewood Avenue, toward Midland Park, after the hit-and-run.
