Man Tried Luring 2 Kids Into His Car, Bergen County Prosecutor Says
A man was arrested for trying to lure two children into his car in Bergen County on Friday, prosecutors say.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Garfield man was charged with trying to lure two children into his car on Friday, prosecutors say.
Mark Jankowski, 43, was arrested after he tried to lure the children at the intersection of Hayward Place and Locust Avenue in Wallington, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.

After the Wallington Police Department contacted the county Special Victims Unit, detectives reviewed surveillance footage that corroborated a witness account, according to the police complaint.

The complaint says Jankowski "appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol" at the time of the offense.
After an investigation, he was charged with two counts of second-degree luring.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
