Marra’s: Old Favorite Moving to New Location
Restaurant owners plan to reopen in Ridgewood.
Within the next few months Dorothy and Joe McGuire, proprietors of Marra's restaurant, plan to be bantering with their guests in a new location.
A family spokesman said the couple, who took over the decades-old restaurant seven years ago, lost their lease on South Broad Street, but have found a new location and will make an announcement as soon as contracts are signed.
"We're closed, but we will be reopening in another location," he said. "We'll let you know."

The spokesman said current plans call for a Ridgewood location so the diners who used to pack Marras on Friday and Saturday nights will not have to travel far from the original location.
And Dorothy McGuire's meatballs will still be on the menu.

Al Marra and his father founded the restaurant 31 years ago, originally naming it The Velvet Turtle. When retail space opened next door, they were able to expand and renamed it Marra's.
Since then, the restaurant has built a steady clientele.
