Masks Optional At Glen Rock Schools March 7
The state executive order requiring masks in schools is set to expire Monday, and Glen Rock Schools will also be mask-optional.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — The state executive order requiring masks in schools is set to expire Monday, and Glen Rock Schools will also be mask-optional.
Dr. Brett Charleston, superintendent for the district, said last month he anticipated the mandate would end.
Districts have the option to keep the mandate in place after March 7.

The mandate for masks on school buses was also dropped.
Bergen County is now at a "low" COVID activity level, according to the state and to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"As superintendent, I appreciate the passion that all stakeholders have expressed on the topic of mask mandates over these past two (2) years, regardless of whether you have supported or objected to ‘masking,'" Charleston said in his message to the district. "While the mask mandate will expire, those students and staff members who wish to continue wearing masks are encouraged to do so. We want all members of our community to feel comfortable while in school. In addition, we are working with our administrative and counseling teams to prepare students and staff for the transition to a mask-optional environment."
