A massive tree fell on a woman as she walked her dog in New Jersey on Saturday, police said. The incident followed the destructive major nor'easter that blew through the state on Friday.
The 44-year-old woman, who was not identified, was hospitalized around 11:30 a.m. after the fall, according to ABC7. The sound of the fall echoed through the Ridgewood community Saturday afternoon, bringing neighbors from every direction, according to the report.
"Everybody from the surrounding houses just came running, and there wasn't much we could do because she was pinned, but we were just trying to make her comfortable and someone called her husband," neighbor Kathy Skrzypczak told ABC7.

In the Ridgewood incident, neighbors searched for chainsaws and other supplies before medics arrived on scene as the woman's leg was pinned underneath on Woodland Avenue, according to ABC7.

First responders – including the Ridgewood Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital – needed 20 minutes to free the trapped woman with heavy rescue equipment and hand tools, according to The Record.
She was transported for Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment, according to the report.
