New Ad Spot Targets Garrett's 'Extremist' Views
The House Majority PAC's ad will begin running Tuesday.

GLEN ROCK, N.J. — A new ad spot calls out Rep. Scott Garrett for opposing a ban on Confederate flag in military ceremonies and labels the seven-time Republican congressman as an "extremist."
The spot by the House Majority Political Action Committee will begin airing on cable throughout the 5th District Tuesday.
The ad describes Garrett's supposed views as, "those of a rural Alabama conservative."

Garrett has come under fire since Politico reported last year he refused to pay his dues to the National Republican Congressional Committee because it backs gay candidates.
Since then, corporate donors, including Goldman Sachs and Capital One, previously announced they would be discontinuing their financial support of Garrett.
The 5th District includes the following Bergen County municipalities: Fair Lawn, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock, Hillsdale, Mahwah, New Milford, Oakland, Paramus, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Westwood, Wyckoff, and most of Teaneck.
