New Ridgewood Drive-Thru Starbucks Has Successful 1st Month

The site is at 121 Franklin Ave., near the downtown shopping area and the Ridgewood train station.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Starbucks new drive-thru location downtown is off to a good first month.

The coffee shop opened Aug. 24 and has been "welcoming customers daily," a Starbucks spokesperson said.

The new location at 121 Franklin Ave. is located two blocks from the other Starbucks coffee shop, which is a traditional sit-down style shop.

The Goldstein Group arranged for a long-term lease of the property.

"The site is in a prime location near the downtown shopping area and the Ridgewood train station is nearby," said Chuck Lanyard, president of The Goldstein Group.

The site had previously been used as a drive-thru mini mart.

"Traffic and design were carefully considered to minimize traffic impact while complimenting the surrounding Franklin streetscape," said Mayor Susan Knudsen. "It seems to be working and resident feedback has been mostly positive especially concerning the convenience of the specific location."
