NJ Hiker Who Died In Washington State Identified: Officials
A hiker found dead in western Washington was a resident of Bergen County. Officials believe she was under the influence of mushrooms.
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A woman who went missing while hiking in Washington state, and was later found dead, has been identified as a resident of eastern Bergen County.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's office identified the woman as Alisonstar Molaf, 25, of Ridgefield Park.
Molaf was hiking with a friend near Wallace Falls on Friday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. Around 8 p.m., Molaf's friend told park rangers she couldn't find her after the pair became separated on Wallace Falls Trail.

Deputies, search and rescue, and fire rescue teams searched for the missing woman Friday night but were unable to find her, authorities said. Searchers returned to the area Saturday and found her body downriver from the trail.

"It is believed the two hikers were under the influence of mushrooms," the sheriff's office said. "The death appears to be accidental."
Her cause of death is still pending, according to the sheriff's office.
The Wallace Falls Trail is in Wallace Falls State Park, located on the western edge of the Cascade Mountains, about 45 miles northeast of Seattle.
A GoFundMe has been established, with proceeds going to Molaf's father. Funeral arrangements have not yet been set.
