NJ School Closings/Dismissals List For Wednesday, 6/14/17

Record heat has prompted school districts to announce that they are taking the unusual step of closing school early.

The National Weather Service says a heat advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday for several counties. A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for the rest of the state as the temperature reaches 95 degrees.

Here is a school early dismissals list provided by NJ101.5 and other sources; we will add to it as news comes in:

Bergen County

• Edgewater School District, Edgewater Closing at 12:00 PM - 6/13/2017

Camden County

• Camden: Due to heat/humidity, all #CCSD schools will dismiss @1pm, June 12 & Tues,June 13. After school activities are cancelled for both days
• Gloucester Township (Click here for schedule)

Essex County

• Pride Academy Charter School, East Orange: Early release at 12:30 PM

Mercer County

• Hamilton Township Public Schools, Hamilton One-Session Day - 6/13/2017
• Trenton Public Schools, Trenton Reduced day schedule Tuesday 6/13

Middlesex County

• Edison schools (Click here for schedule)

• New Brunswick schools: Due to heat and humidity, the district will have an early dismissal for students only at Lincoln, Roosevelt and Livingston schools on Tuesday 6/13/17
• St. John Vianney Elem - Colonia, Colonia: Early release at 11:30 AM
• Woodbridge Township School District, Woodbridge Closing Early - 6/13/2017 - Check website for schedule

Monmouth County

• Belmar Elementary School, Belmar Closing at 1 p.m. Mon & Tues
• Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools, Englishown 4 hour day on Tues 6/13
• Matawan: Due to the extremely warm weather anticipated for Tuesday, June 13th, all schools throughout the district will operate on a four hour session for students only. Passaic County

• Clifton Public Schools, Clifton: Using early release schedule
• Paterson: All elementary students will be dismissed at 1 pm due to the excessive heat. High school students will be dismissed at their normal early dismissal schedule. All afterschool and evening programs have been cancelled. Staff will work a full day schedule.

Somerset County

• Hillsborough Township Public School Dist, Hillsborough Early Dismissal Tues 6/13. No Kindergarten.\
• North Plainfield Schools: Half-Day Dismissal Schedule: High School 12:10 p.m.; Middle School 12:10 p.m.; Somerset School 12:15 p.m.; Elementary Schools 12:25 p.m.

Union County

• Cranford: Early release schedule
• Plainfield Public Schools, Plainfield Single session Mon & Tues

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools

• Scotch Plains Closing at 12:00 PM - 6/13/2017
