RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A "small part" of the ceiling collapsed at Ridgewood Village Hall on Tuesday morning. It was initially reported that no one suffered injuries, but one village employee did go to the hospital on their own accord.

Village Manager Heather Mailander confirmed with Patch that the ceiling collapse was only in the engineering department. One employee, who initially refused medical treatment, "later chose to go to the hospital, on his own, to be checked out," Mailander said.

"The hospital checked him out and then he was released," she added.
