Packages Stolen From Ridgewood Residents' Properties, Police Report
Residents can request someone sign for a package or have it delivered to a neighbor's house to prevent theft, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ - Several residents have recently reported packages being stolen from their front porches, police said.
The Ridgewood Police Department reminded residents to be vigilant and watch for people removing packages after they’ve been delivered.
The department offered the following tips for preventing packages being stolen:

- Require a signature for delivered items.
- Have packages delivered to a neighbor who is home during the day.
- Request delivery to a specific place on the property, like a back door, or a spot other than a front porch, that is out of sight from the street.
- Have packages delivered to your place of work.
- Ask the delivery company to hold your package at a facility and pick it up.
- Track a package and request an e-mail alert when the package is delivered.
- Have someone pick up the package once it is delivered.
