BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Palisades Park police officer was arrested on Tuesday for providing false statements under oath, prosecutors said.

Cory J. Havens of Vauxhall was charged with false swearing, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that on Tuesday, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit was conducting an administrative investigation that was referred to them by the Palisades Park Police Department.

Havens made false statements to detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office while under oath, prosecutors said.
Havens was arrested in Hackensack on Tuesday and charged with fourth-degree false swearing.

He was released to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
