Ridgewood Boys Repeat as Group 3 Lacrosse Champions
Goaltender Noah Pounds leads the way with 12 saves. It's now on to the Tournament of Champions on Saturday for the Maroons.
Behind yet another superb performance from senior goalie Noah Pounds on Wednesday, the Ridgewood Maroons topped Shawnee 7-3 to repeat as Group 3 champs. The team is now Tournament of Champions bound after stifling defense and key goals in the second quarter bested the upstarts from Burlington County.

It was a defensive stalemate for much of the first quarter, with neither team generating much offense in the first ten minutes. Following a nice save on a low bouncing shot by Pounds, the Maroons turned the ball up field to take a 1-0 lead with 1:30 remaining. They wouldn't look back.
Over the first five minutes of the second quarter the Maroons would score three more times to open up a 4-0 lead and from there the defense, lead by Pounds in goal, preserved the victory.
COACH'S TAKE
"Noah is the best goaltender in the state," said head coach Mike Pounds, also his father. "He forces shooters to try to make the perfect shot. Early on he kept us in it shutting them down and allowing the offense to get the lead."
