Ridgewood Businesses To Be Rewarded For 'Green' Efforts
Officials to discuss new Green Business Recognition Program Wednesday.

Ridgewood businesses may soon be recognized for their efforts to help the environment.
The Ridgeowod Green Team is creating and administering the program, which will allow businesses the chance to showcase their environmentally-friendly business practices, said Councilman Michael Sedon, the council liaison to the Green Team. The Green Team is a group of local officials and residents who work together to come up with environmentally-friendly practices in the village.
Business owners will go through a checklist, noting various practices they administer to reduce their carbon footprint, from water conservation to recycling. Businesses must meet a certain quota of activities to be designated a “green business,” under the program.
