RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The Ridgewood High School Varsity Cheerleading Team has more reason to cheer this month as they won the state championships for the first time in school history.

"I am beyond proud of this team and the hard work they’ve put in all year," said Coach Erica Casler. "It was truly a team effort and such a special moment for Ridgewood Cheer."

The Maroons achieved their victory at the competition held at Monroe High School, "punctuating a season defined by grit and athletic excellence," said a school district spokeswoman. "The path to the podium was not without its obstacles; the squad demonstrated remarkable resilience, navigating a gauntlet of injuries, illness, and high-pressure moments."
