The Ridgewood Choral Announces annual scholarships
Scholarships for high school seniors who sing or play an instrument
The Ridgewood Choral has announced that online applications are now open for its two scholarship awards. Auditions will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, with ten applicants selected to audition.
The scholarships are available to high school seniors in Bergen and Rockland counties who intend to pursue formal education in vocal or instrumental music at an institution of higher learning. Two awards are offered. The Florence Reinauer Memorial Music Award was established in 1967 and endowed in 1972 by B. Franklin Reinauer in memory of his wife, Florence. Valued at $2,000, it is awarded for excellence in vocal or instrumental performance.

The Marjorie Vandervoort Vocal Award, in the amount of $1,000, was created during the Choral’s 90th Anniversary Season (2017–2018) in honor of Music Director Marjorie Vandervoort’s 25 years of service. This award is presented exclusively for excellence in vocal performance.
The two award recipients will perform at the Choral’s Spring Concert, to be held at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
