Ridgewood Football Named Team Of The Year: Report
The Maroons finished the season 12-0 and won the North 1, Group 5 sectional championship.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — The perfect 12-0 Maroons were named the Team of the Year by The Record recently.
The team was not flashy. Other than Zach Feagles, they did not have a superstar. They were a collection of "dedicated individuals who put aside everything for the sake of the team," head coach Chuck Johnson told The Record recently.
"They are the epitome of a team," Johnson said.

Several players, including Feagles, were named to The Record's all-defensive and all-offensive teams recently.

The Maroons fought Passaic County Tech hard in the group championship game, winning 14-13. Jack Kiernan had a key interception against PCT quarterback Waleek Huffin on the goal line in the second quarter.
Ridgewood scored 24 straight points against Montclair in the sectional semi-final game to advance to the final.
