Ridgewood High School Field Repairs Continue After Ida Damages
District officials said the stadium field could be operational by the end of the week, but a concrete timeline hasn't been set.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The remnants of Tropical Storm Ida caused flooding and damage to properties across the region, including the athletic fields at Ridgewood High School.
District officials approved two contracts with area companies to make repairs at Brookside Field, as well as the stadium at the high school and Stevens Field. Those projects will cost the district over $150,000 to complete, but progress is moving along.
At the time of the storm, Superintendent Thomas Gorman said two fields sustained "significant damage" because of flooding, and that it would be several weeks before they were again operational.

That initial timeline seems to be accurate for at least the stadium field at the high school, as Gorman relayed to Patch on Tuesday that repairs to the synthetic surface at the stadium could be completed by this weekend.
Once those repairs are complete, cleanup and repair work will begin at Stevens Field, and is expected to take "a few weeks" to complete. There is no concrete timeline, district officials said, because weather conditions "can impact the work being done."
