Ridgewood Native Joins New York Knicks Front Office

Michael Arcieri is team's new director of basketball strategy.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The New York Knicks have hired Michael Arcieri as director of basketball strategy.

Arcieri is a Bergen Catholic High School graduate. He worked for the Orlando Magic for the past five years. He was director of basketball operations last season and was director of basketball administration for the four preceding seasons.

Arcieri's responsibilities with the Magic included managing the salary cap and team roster, assisting with player trades and contract negotiations, budget development and oversight and player evaluation.

Before joining Orlando, he was part of the team counsel with the Texas Legends of the NBA Developmental League and coached high school basketball in Old Tappan.

Arcieri was raised in Ridgewood and Queens, New York. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Brooklyn Law School.
