Ridgewood Percussionists 'Beat' Competitors To Head To NJ Concert
Student percussionists at Ridgewood High School have advanced through regional competitions to perform at a state concert.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Three Ridgewood High School Percussion Ensemble members have won a regional competition and will perform in the upcoming statewide concert.
Raghav Shukla, Sean Brady, Vincent Guerrero, and Michael Brescia are winners in the first round of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Young Musician Concert Regional Competition.
Under the direction of Gary Fink, the ensemble submitted a performance video of Tombolo for 4 percussionists, earning them a spot in the upcoming New Jersey Regional Concert.

The students will advance to the next round by performing at the New Jersey Regional Concert on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Bergen County Academies.
As part of this year’s competition, they will also receive a one-hour online coaching session via Zoom with a Chamber Music Society artist before the Regional Concert.

This marks the 19th time since 1998 that members of the RHS Percussion Ensemble have been selected to perform for a Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center event, showcasing the school's rich tradition of musical excellence, the school said.
