Man Arrested After Police Find $25K In Stolen Ridgewood Jewelry At Store
$30,000 worth of jewelry was burglarized from a Ridgewood home, police said. Adam Broersma, 31, was charged with theft.
A Ringwood man was charged with theft Monday after police recovered $25,000 worth of jewelry he allegedly took from a Ridgewood home earlier this month, Ridgewood police said in a press release.
Jewelry was reported missing from a North Murray Avenue residence Dec. 8, said Capt. Forest Lyons. The $30,000 worth of jewelry was taken from the master bedroom.
Ridgewood police detectives found some of the jewelry in a nearby jewelry store, Lyons said.

Police discovered that Adam Broersma, 31, sold the jewelry to the store after he burglarized the home, Lyons said.
Broersma entered the home through his job as a window washer at AB Clean Windows of Ringwood.

Detectives recovered about $25,000 worth of jewelry from the store.
Ridgewood police remind residents to store their valuables in a secure place, such as a safe or safety deposit box, and to be mindful of allowing people access to their homes, especially service providers. Residents should get references from service providers prior to hiring them, police said.
